We are Gursikh practicing Advocates at New Delhi and are addressing this humble Representation to your Offices:
We the Sikh community are deeply hurt, annoyed and left speechless by the audacity, idiocy, threats and extremism of Mr. Gurpatwant Pannun who has recently posted a video on Social Media Platforms strongly suggesting Sikhs not to travel by AIR INDIA flights on or after 19 November as their could be threat to life and that they plan a “Global Blockage” against AIR INDIA Flights, which will not be allowed to operate after 19th November. He also threatened that they will close down Indira Gandhi International Airport at New Delhi on 19th November and demanded that its name be changed.
At the outset we quote here our 9th Sikh Guru Sahib – Shri Guru Tegh Bahadar Sahib Ji’s Gurbani Quote: “Frighten none, nor be afraid of anyone”. These sacred words are our Guru Sahib’s Hukam/Order to all His Devotees. Those who do not follow the sacred Teachings of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and those who threaten others and spread fear & hatred among people CANNOT BE SIKHS. Therefore, Mr. Gurpatwant Pannun and those who follow his vicious agenda are NOT SIKHS.
Further, Mr. Gurpatwant Pannun does not follow basic Teachings of Sikh Faith. He is ashamed of keeping uncut hair and wearing a Turban, which is the first identity/ basic tenet of Sikhism of a Sikh. To us it seems he is pretending to be a “Sikh” with ulterior motive of defaming and harming the Sikh Community.
Even ARDAS/ SUPPLICATION of every Sikh ends with a Universal Prayer “Sarbat Da Bhalla”, meaning “Welfare of all”. No Sikh will ever harm anybody. The World is a witness to the generosity and welfare activities of Sikh Community.
Mr. Gurpatwant Pannun has defamed and brought insult to entire Sikh Community in India and abroad and has committed highest form of Blasphemy by disguising himself as a “Sikh” and still going against the sacred Teachings of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Mr. Gurpatwant Pannun has intentionally, maliciously, for ulterior motives and agendas jeopardized the reputation and lives of all Sikhs in India and abroad by his Criminal activities . He has caused spread of hatred against the Sikh Community.
AIR INDIA has Maharaja as its Icon and THE TATA GROUP has been the pride of India. The Sikh Community stands strongly with Air India and the Tata Group and are always grateful to them for spreading the message of “Ek- Onkar” on Guru Nanak Sahib Ji’s 550 Birth Anniversary and painting of Shri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar on its Airline AIR INDIA.
In words and deeds, we, the Sikh Community, strongly CONDEMN all acts, words and actions of Mr. Gurpatwant Pannun and we urge the Managing Directors of TALACE PRIVATE LIMITED – AIR INDIA, the US Embassy and The Ministry of External Affairs – Government of India to take immediate cognizance in this matter for strict Legal action against Mr. Gurpatwant Pannun.
Kindly also check the authenticity of the video and ensure that it is not a fake or AI generated video as some aspects seem to raise doubts about its genuineness. Kindly do rule out any doubt.
