Sub.: Legal Notice regarding – A Non-Sikh Hero of your Film named “Yaariyan2” seen wearing the sacred KIRPAN, a Religious Article of Faith of the Sikhs, thereby humiliating and insulting our sacred Kirpan, which acts amount to blasphemy and sacrelege to the pious symbol of the Sikhs. Only Amritdhari Gursikhs are entitled to wear the sacred Kirpan with a Gatra.
Call upon you to remove the blasphemous scenes immediately from the Movie “Yaariyan2”.
Sir,
Since you, Mr. Bhushan Kumar Dua, as Chairman and Managing Director of Super Cassettes Industries Limited, also known as T-Series, is the son of Late Shri Gulshan Kumar, the Founder of T-Series Music Production House which has recorded a number of Music Albums – Cassettes on Gurbani and Kirtan, you should be well aware of the Tenets of Sikh Faith and the Panj Kakaars (5 Ks) of Khalsa Panth as blessed by Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji, one of which is the sacred KIRPAN.
Late Shri Gulshan Kumar had done great service for the Sikh Community. It is unfortunate that your Production House is not carrying forward that great legacy.
Only Amritdhari Gursikhs who has been blessed and initiated with “Amrit Pahul” – “THE KHALSA” are entitled to wear the sacred KIRPAN, which is a symbol of high Spiritual level of purity with discipline and self-control to use this Weapon for self-defense and protection of the oppressed.
Your Film Production House and Director of the Film “Yaariyan2” has intentionally shown the Hero – a non-Sikh wearing the sacred Kirpan, with hidden agenda to insult, mock and demean the Kirpan and to misrepresent to the General Public that the sacred Kirpan can be worn by any “Tom, Dock and Harry”. Moreover, the Hero is shown wearing the sacred Kirpan in the same manner as a Amritdhari Gursikh – i.e. with the “Gatra”. What is the purpose & relevance of showing this scene and how is this enhancing the story of your Movie?
Your acts have caused immense hurt to the Religious sentiments of Sikh Community and have insulted and mocked the sacred Kirpan, amounting to Blasphemy, sacrelege and provoking hatred towards Sikh Faith.
As a Amritdhari Gursikh practicing Advocate and Team Member of Sikh Legal Aid and on behalf of my Colleague Advocates of Sikh Legal Aid and the Sikh Community, I hereby call upon you and your Production House to immediately remove all scenes in the movie “Yaariyan2” showing the Hero as a Non-Sikh and Non-Turban person wearing the sacred Kirpan and cease and desist from showing such scenes in future. Further, cease and desist from making Movies demeaning and insulting the Sikh Faith and our Panj Kakaars. Tender unconditional apology to Shri Akal Takhat Sahib, Amritsar (with cc to us) within Two days of receipt of this Legal Notice, failing which, we, as a Team of Advocates, shall be constrained to initiate appropriate Civil and Criminal action against you and your Production House.
